URBAN AND REGIONAL PLANNING (URP/PLANOLOGY – UNDIP) ALUMNI
The Department of Urban and Regional Planning (DURP) UNDIP has succeeded in producing excellent graduates who work in many Governmental Institutions, Non-Governmental Organizations, and private institutions throughout Indonesia. Until April 2021, the Bachelor Study Program has produced 2248 alumni, while the Master Program has graduated 1500 students.
The results of discussions and sharing experiences in the working world practices have led the alumni to emphasize several critical points for prospective DURP UNDIP graduates to enter the working world and meet the market demands. Following are some highlights from the alumni perspective:
1. Mastery of Planology
Graduates of DURP UNDIP are required to understand and master the foundations and sciences of Urban and Regional Planning/Planology, especially for those who want to work in the planning area as consultants/experts for both governmental agencies and non-governmental organizations. In addition, DURP UNDIP graduates are expected to carry out in-depth analyses to understand various development issues and strengthen their knowledge.
2. Soft skill
Soft skills are one of the most critical aspects of the working world. It includes critical thinking skills, good communication, leadership, analytical skills, and several others. These soft skills must also be supported by a good attitude and mentality, showing integrity, being trustworthy, and being responsible.
3. Future Orientation
Before entering the world of work, it is necessary to prepare a clear future orientation. The DURP students need to know where and how DURP graduates will work to prepare themselves and be ready for the future.
