The Golden Triangle of Demak Regency as a religious, dynamic, competitive, and sustainable Leading Tourism Destination Area to enhance the economic and cultural development of Demak Regency. The purpose of structuring the Demak Golden Triangle Cultural Tourism Area is to develop the community’s social life, improve the community’s economy, and develop environmental quality and maintain environmental sustainability. The types of tourism problems that occur in Demak include the arrangement of the Tourism Area, lack of tourism events, the creative economy and tourism villages have not developed, and the lack of synergy and collaboration. From the existing problems, several solutions were formulated such as the preparation of a grand design, making tour packages, the government partnering with tourism stakeholders to hold tourism events that can attract tourists, mentoring tourism actors, etc. In addition, it was also explained about the development of tourism villages including the objectives, potential, pillars and principles of tourism village development.
The Urban Design and Development Laboratory, Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University held an On-Campus Teaching Practitioner activity on April 24, 2024 at the Theater Room Building A. This On-Campus Teaching Practitioner activity is one of a series of activities of the 2024 Match Fund Program, a collaboration between the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and the Demak Regency Tourism Office. The theme of the Teaching Practitioner activities on campus is “Structuring the Demak Golden Triangle Cultural Tourism Area: Benefits for the Community and Regional Development”. This activity aims for students to gain knowledge directly from practitioners of government agencies.
This activity was attended by 90 students and guided by Dr. Mussadun, ST, Msi as the moderator, with guest speaker Mrs. Dra. Endah Cahya Rini MM as Head of the Demak Regency Tourism Office. The guest sepaker presented material related to tourism in Demak Regency with the hope of adding insight for students of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, especially in the field of tourism arrangement.
This activity is relevant to achieving SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities.
