The preparation of the Technocratic Design of the Long Term Plan for the Magelang City Region in 2025-2045 is a collaboration between the Regional Development Planning Agency of Magelang City and the Department of Regional and City Planning at Diponegoro University. This document was prepared technocratically by the City of Magelang’s development conditions and the applicable regulations. This document aims to produce the vision, mission, and development directions for Magelang City for 20 years.
A preliminary report was presented to follow up on this activity on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Pangripta Room/Aula of the Regional Development Planning Agency of Magelang City. This activity was attended by stakeholders in Magelang City, including the Central Bureau of Statistics for Magelang City, the Public Works Office for the Magelang City, and other related agencies. The event began with a welcome speech from the Head of the Regional Development Planning Agency of Magelang City, Handini Rahayu, ST, M.Eng. In her welcome speech, she hoped that all parties would be involved and be able to provide the data needed for the process of preparing the Technocratic Draft Long Term Plan for the Magelang City Region in 2025- 2045 in order to produce factual and up-to-date strategic issues, which will then become a reference in the preparation of the Regional Medium Term Plan document.

The process of preparing the Technocratic Draft Long Term Development Plan for Magelang City begins with the introduction of a preliminary report. The preliminary report was presented by the Urban and Regional Planning Department team, Wido Prananing Tyas, ST, MDP, Ph.D and Dr. Okto Risdianto Manullang, ST, MT. In the presentation of the preliminary report, it is submitted regarding the identification of general conditions and regional financing of Magelang City based on the data that has been collected for validation and synchronization between agencies to be used later in the stages of preparing strategic issues for the vision, mission, direction of development of Magelang City in 20 years, so that development can be directed, sustainable, effective, efficient for equity and improvement of people’s welfare. Based on the preliminary report exposure results, it is known that there are several potentials and problems in the Magelang City based on input from the stakeholders involved. In addition, some additional data is still needed to maximize the analysis carried out so that at the end of this activity, the Regional Development Planning Agency of Magelang City expects the contribution and involvement of all stakeholders to assist in completing data needs for the smooth process of preparing this document.
