Public Consultation I on the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Magelang City Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) was held in Magelang City on Thursday, July 9, 2023. The event was attended by representatives from relevant government agencies including the Statistics Office of Magelang City (BPS), the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency of Magelang City (PUPR), the Transportation Agency of Magelang City (Dishub), the Agriculture and Food Agency of Magelang City, and other related institutions. Additionally, representatives from the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) and the District Military Command (Dandim) of Magelang City were also present. The event was conducted in a hybrid format, with participants attending in person at the Department of Environment of Magelang City and through a Zoom meeting for those unable to attend in person. During the Public Consultation I, a presentation of the report on the Environmental Impact Assessment for the Magelang City Medium-Term Development Plan for the period of 2025-2045 was conducted. Prior to this, a kick-off event and a preliminary report presentation for the Environmental Impact Assessment of the Magelang City Medium-Term Development Plan were held on May 24, 2023.
This activity is filled with exposure to speakers and discussions. The activity began with welcome speech from Mr. Bambang Purwanto, ST, MM, the Head of the Environmental Management Division for Magelang City. Then it was followed by remarks and presentations from the Central Java Province Environmental Service Dr. Irma Damayanti, S.Hut., MM, as Head of the Environmental Management Section for Central Java Province. The presentation was related to directions regarding implementing the Strategic Environmental Assessment Long Term Development Plan for Magelang City document. In the presentation delivered by Dr. Irma Damayanti, S.Hut., MM., explained that the preparation of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Long Term Development Plan of Magelang City aims to ensure that environmental aspects and their impacts have been considered in long-term regional planning so that development can be sustainable and balanced between environmental, social aspects. , and economics. The next activity was presenting an intermediate report from the Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Samsul M’rif, SP, MT, as the team leader. The presentation of the intermediate report aims to convey the results of identifying the general conditions of the area, identifying carrying capacity and carrying capacity, identifying issues of sustainable strategic development of the Strategic Environmental Assessment Long Term Development Plan for Magelang City to obtain input and suggestions from various parties and related agencies in Magelang City. Based on the results of Public Consultation I, several potentials, problems, and strategic issues were identified in the aspect of sustainable development based on the results of inputs and suggestions from all stakeholders. This activity was closed by Mr. Bambang Purwanto, ST, MM, while at the same time inviting and expecting all stakeholders involved to be able to assist in completing the data and providing input and suggestions needed in the smooth process of preparing the Strategic Environmental Assessment Long Term Development Plan for Magelang city.
