RESILIENT COMMUNITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE CITIES: URBAN INFORMALITY, INCLUSION, AND INNOVATION

 

Description

The Departments of Urban and Regional Planning Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Semarang, Indonesia and the University Hawai’i at Manoa (UHM), Honolulu, USA, jointly offer this summer course. In this course, students are expected to learn comprehensively and recognize various topics and agendas related to resilient communities for Sustainable Cities in Urban and Regional Planning. Several case studies, which show about urban informality, inclusion and innovation, are expected to enrich students’ understanding by concluding the lessons learned that have been identified.

The event will be held for 2 weeks from July 24 until August 4, 2023, and will be conducted offline and online. The case studies will focus on numerous resilient communities in Desa Sayung Demak, Kampung Bustaman, Kampung Pelangi, Kampung Jawi, and Urban Farming Kampung-Tambakrejo in Semarang.
